Sunday, September 12th is the “National Clean Out Your Garage Day?” Think about the hazardous items you have stored in your garage, the tools you go to reach for and can’t find and the clutter that just plain gets in the way. The transition from summer to fall means putting away lawnmowers, yard tools, bikes and fun in the sun items.
Donate or Throw Away
Go through all of your summer equipment to see if it works. Place labels on each item so you know which items you plan on donating or throwing away.
Lighting
Add work lighting which makes life a whole lot easier when trying to find an item. Labeling boxes is great but won’t work unless you can see what you are organizing.
Prepare Before Storing
Equipment that will go unused until next summer needs to be cleaned before storing for the season. If you live in a cold climate area, check cans of paint that should to be stored in a frost free area for the winter. Throw out old cans of paint and pesticides.
Organize
Organize and store small, loose items, store sharp tools and pesticides out of reach of children. Designate areas, a garden section, automotive section etc. Make time to organize and save time when you go to reach for something!

Sometimes life can be overwhelming.Focusing on what is most important gives a good balance between work and family. Why hire an errand/concierge service?
Busy Lifestyle
Travel for Work
Snowbirds
Illness
New Parents
Disability
Post Surgery
Need Party Assistance
Need an Occasional Helping Hand
If you had just a few hours a week to yourself how would you use that time?
Work out at the health club after work instead of grocery shopping.
Spend time with your family on the weekends instead of running errands.
Enjoying holiday parties instead of shopping for holiday gifts.
Lunch with a friend instead of waiting for the repairman.
Why do people hire me? I am resourceful, professional and make life a little easier.

Life is so much easier when you are organized. For both business owners and busy families life can be overwhelming.
Using an online calendar system is an alternative way to keep on track with your day.Keeping on task with your “To-Do” list is easy.I also use a traditional calendar that I keep in my car when out and about.
Appointments, birthdays, work out at the gym dates, scheduled meetings, Jason’s soccer games, vacation details and more can be stored on your computer as an extra reminder for each day. With today’s technology gadgets there are many ways to keep a log of priorities and have your own personalized reminder service.
No more excuses, staying organized is easy and time saving.

One of my previous business ventures years ago was online care packages. I enjoyed supplying parent’s great selections of care packages for their college student or a child going to summer camp. When my son’s went away to college I would send fun care packages every couple of months.
While buying pre-package gifts online is convenient, it can be pricey.Every Mom knows the feeling of sending their son or daughter off for the first year. You want them to have that connection from home and know that you are thinking about them, which is the way it should be.Here are some tips from what I learned and remember boys get just as homesick as girls and like hearing you!
Personalized College Care Packages (alternatives to buying a pre-packaged online gift):
Package your own care package with snacks your student likes.Soups, hot cocoa, tea, healthy granola bars etc.
Use light weight tissue paper to keep the package weight down and save on shipping cost.
Gift cards for local supermarkets, health food stores and restaurants are a great addition to your package. You can package a gift card along with food items or send it in a “Thinking about You” greeting card with the gift card.
Girls love a stuffed animal included in a few packages.Maybe put a bag of Hershey Kisses in with a stuffed bear or puppy.Candy might not be an item you would send often but this is a creative way to send love from home.
It’s About Time (Errands & Personal Assistance) is here to help. When life is busy, give us a call.We can pick up items for your College Care Package, package it with all the finishes touches and send it off, saving you from running around.
It’s About Time knows just how to send love from home.Call or email to find out details on making your life a little easier.

Limiting you’re shopping to the perimeter of the store and avoiding the aisles will give you a head start on losing those extra pounds.
Most grocery stores have aisles filled with convenience processed foods, canned goods, meals in a bag, frozen boxed dinners that are loaded with fat and calories. The perimeter of the store offers fruits, vegetables, lean meats and other healthy meal choices.
It’s important to be aware of food labels and find foods with the fewest amounts of ingredients -- three to four instead of six to eight. The top five ingredients listed make up the food, the rest are preservatives.
The center aisles do have some healthy foods, if you look carefully and are selective. Some items such as brown rice, whole wheat bread, and some spices are healthy additions to your food pantry.
If the majority of your foods are from the perimeter of the grocery store you are eating healthy.Adding your own spices into foods you prepare, helps you control the calories in your daily diet.

Shopping at a farmer's market means that you will get the best, freshest produce available, while at the same time you are supporting small local farmers.
Locally grown food is generally more nutritious.
It tends to be less expensive because there are fewer shipping costs involved.
Buying food locally supports your local economy.
Buying food locally promotes eating seasonally, which makes food shopping less expensive.
Try Something New Each Week
If you're lucky enough to have a farmers' market in your town with a selection of unusual produce, why not try one new food each week. At best, maybe you'll discover something new to bring to your table.

This year my husband and I spent a month in Florida to be near family who had recently moved. We needed a way to receive our mail while renting a Florida home and the Snowbird Mail service from “It’s About Time” came to mind. Jane Heacock offers a weekly pick-up, sort and send of important mail to her clients’ vacation locations. The Snowbird service takes the worry out of being away from home for extended periods and potentially missing receipt of important documents.
Jane’s Snowbird Mail service allowed us to pay our bills on time, respond to inquiries and generally have the peace of mind of knowing we were on top of things. My husband and I highly recommend the service from “It’s About Time” to all our traveling friends and family.
